About 'Students' and Teachers' Holistic Advancement through Quality Education (SARTHAQ)'

  • Development: The plan, SARTHAQ, is developed by the Department of School Education and Literacy
  • Roadmap: It acts as a roadmap for the implementation plan for the National Education Policy 2020.
  • Collaborative: It is an indicative and suggestive implementation plan for school education with the collaboration of the teachers all across the country through ‘shikshak parv’.
  • Concurrent: The plan is based on the concurrent nature of education.
    • The plan adheres to the spirit of federalism by giving States and UTs the required flexibility to adapt this plan.
    • This could be modified with local contextualization as per their needs and requirements of the state education system.

Education a concurrent subject

  • In the original Indian constitution education was enlisted as state subject.
  • But through a constitutional amendment in 1976, under Article 42 of the constitution education became a concurrent list subject.
    • It enables the central government to legislate it in the manner acccording to it.

Verifying, please be patient.
