  1. Put + in (preposition)

Meaning –

Invest time or effort or money

Usage - He put in 5hrs daily for his studies to score 90% in the exam.

              When the business started, each of the investors put in INR 20,000.

 

Install

Usage - The director asked to put in all the computers in C-Block labs.

 

Formally submit a request, a claim or a proposal.

Usage - The trainers put in the letter to the chancellor’s office regarding their salary issue.

Meaning –

Delay or postpone a task and cancel a meeting

Usage - When are you going to learn phrasal verbs, you can’t put them off for a week.

               It is too late to put them off now.
