- Government has granted exemption from Basic Customs Duty and Health cess, on the import of Ventilators, Face masks, surgical Masks, Personal protection equipment and Covid-19 test kits.
- Finance Ministry has said that this basic customs duty exemption will be available upto the 30th September this year.
- The government has taken the decision in the context of Covid-19 situation and considering the immediate requirement of ventilators and other items.
