India-Denmark joins hands through Atal Innovation Mission

Context
A Statement of Intent (SoI) was signed for the Innovation Center Denmark tocollaborate with AIM to support various current and future initiatives of AIM, in India along with addressing SDG goals.
About the Statement of Intent (SoI)
- It was signed between AIM, NITI Aayog, and the Embassy of Denmark to India.
- The purpose of SoI is to jointly work towards promoting innovation and entrepreneurship amongst aspiring entrepreneurs.
- The partnership would be executed through Innovation Center Denmark (ICDK) under the Embassy of Denmark.
- The research and development efforts would be aligned to achieve results in an accelerated manner.
- 10 innovations were identified between Denmark and India by the water innovation challenge that was organized in collaboration with AIM.
- AIM-ICDK shall also explore various areas of collaboration such as AIM-Denmark school students innovation exchange and co-innovation development, hosting Indo-Denmark innovation challenges, facilitating startup-incubator collaborations and exchanges, and promotion of startup and entrepreneurship events and competitions through the networks and channels of both parties.
- AIM and ICDK have previously collaborated to host the AIM-ICDK Water challenge.
- The SoI between the two would pave the way for more future collaborations that allow innovation exchanges between two countries.
Atal Innovation Mission (AIM)
- It is the Government of India’s flagship initiative by NitiAayog, to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in the country.
- AIM has taken a holistic approach to ensure the creation of a problem-solving innovative mindset in schools and to create an ecosystem of entrepreneurship in universities, research institutions, private and MSME sectors. A
- The initiatives of AIM are currently monitored and managed systematically by using real-time MIS systems and dynamic dashboards.
- AIM is also having its programs reviewed by third-party agencies to ensure continuous improvements.
