- President, Vice President, Prime Minister have greeted people on new year Vikram Samvat 2077, Chaitra Sukladi, Ugadi, Gudi Padava, Cheti Chand, Navreh and Sajibu Cheiraoba.
- This will probably be the first time in history when cave shrine of Mata vaishno Devi is closed for devotees in Navratri.
- There will be all the rituals and worship of Navratri in the temples but there will not be anyone to see them.
- Vikram Samvat and also known as the Vikrami calendar, is the historical Hindu calendar in the Indian subcontinent. It is the official calendar of Nepal.
- In India it is used in several states. The calendar uses lunar months and solar sidereal years.
