The National Eligibility Test (NET) is administered on the behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC) for influencing the capability of Indian Nationals for the eligibility of Junior Research Fellowship, Assistant Professorship, or both, For Indian universities, colleges, and Institutions Recognized by UGC.
The NET was organized by CBSE until June 2018, in 81 Subjects in 91 cities across the country, subsequently from December 2018 onwards; UGC NET is being organized by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
